Tampaksiring was one of the major Balinese kingdoms during pre colonial times but is known today for expansive rice fields, the pretty Pakerisan River, local crafts and impressive temples protected by UNESCO.
Along the hike see lush jungle, temples, schools, market, traditional village home, rice fields, Tirta Empul Holy Spring Temple and Istana Tampaksiring, one of only 6 presidential palaces in Indonesia
Balinese guides are from this area and have expert knowledge about the village history and traditions plus the stops enroute. The tracks are paved with only one small hill at the start of the walk. This makes the Tampaksiring Village Walk easy to appreciate the sights, sounds, and scents of rural life, also providing opportunities to interact with locals.
