Ubud during the rainy season isn’t something to avoid. Bali’s climate is tropical which means short yet hard downpours are the normal weather pattern during wet season. Much of the rain occurs at night which is refreshing for the morning.
Even when it is raining the daily average temperature doesn’t fluctuate more than 3 or 4 degrees all year long. As Ubud is inland and heading toward the mountain range the temperature will be approx. 2 until 3 degrees cooler than in the south of Bali Island.
